BDA Partners Co-Hosts Global Wine Tasting Dinner with DBJ

On April 18, 2025, BDA Partners’ Tokyo office co-hosted a Global Wine Tasting Dinner with the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo.

We were honored to welcome guests from leading private equity firms and prominent Japanese corporations, coming together to enjoy a curated selection of fine wines from around the world in an evening of networking and connection.

The tasting was led by Ms. Junko Tominaga, one of Japan’s most respected wine instructors. Guests enjoyed a blind tasting experience paired with a multi-course dinner prepared by the Grand Hyatt Tokyo.

The evening began with a welcoming glass of delicate rosé from Provence, followed by a celebratory toast with a classically styled Champagne featuring layered complexity. Guests then sampled three white wines representing three different grape varieties and countries, each chosen to highlight aromatic, versatile, and neutral characteristics. The tasting concluded with three red wines, including the iconic Super Tuscan “Tenuta Luce,” showcasing the elegance and power of Merlot-based blends from three different countries.
